Loading a Race Car onto a Racing Trailer
If you’re not as experienced with your race trailer, you might be biting your nails at the thought of loading your vehicle. After all, you’ve spent a lot of money on both the vehicle and the trailer. That’s why Victory Custom Trailers has provided you with some tips for safely loading your rig. But if you need additional help from our experienced staff, don’t hesitate to get in touch with us at our dealership.
Prepare Your Rig
Start by making sure your racing trailer is ready for the road. These kinds of checks will be much easier without the vehicle inside, so do this before loading. Start by checking your tires to make sure they’re at the recommended pressure and are free of damage. You’ll also want to check to make sure all your mirrors are properly placed so you can see both the trailer and parts of the road around you.
Finally, check all your lights, from your headlights back to your brake lights and turn signals. They need to be bright and visible. If you have the time, you can even consider swapping in some LEDs to make you even more noticeable.
Loading
When it’s time to load your vehicles, make sure the racing trailer and vehicle are going to stay steady during the process by setting the brakes and finding flat, stable ground to work on. Lower the gate or set up the loading ramp at the lowest angle you can get it so you don’t have to push too hard on the accelerator. Drive up slowly and pull in completely before setting the brake and turning off the engine. This will probably take some coordination between the accelerator and the brake and never leave a motorized vehicle running in such a small space.
The process is fairly simple, but you might want to practice a few times in advance, so you aren’t wasting time when you’re ready to hit the road. If you need additional help, or if you’d like to check out some of the race trailers we have for sale here at Victory Custom Trailers in Metamora, MI, then come talk to our friendly and experienced staff.
