Toterhome: Pros and Cons
There are very few things in life that offer you the best of many things rolled in one. A toterhome is that exception! Call it what you may – a unique RV, a bigger trailer and toy hauler, or a large fifth wheel – a toterhome is all that and more. At Victory Custom Trailers, we want to offer our customers just what they need. So, if you need a monster RV and would like to check out a toterhome, head to our dealership in Metamora, Michigan.
But, before you pick one, here are the pros and a few considerations you need to note about toterhomes highlighted for you.
Pro: Excellent Hauling Capacity
The hauling capacity of a toterhome comes from its unique design – it is a bigger motorhome on a semi-truck chassis. This facilitates towing race cars and other bigger recreational equipment (boats, canoes, bikes) that you may own.
If not as a garage, you can also customize the rig to suit your requirements. Some of the models even sport two stories.
Pro: Huge Storage Space
Take your favorite toys to the campsite and don’t worry about engaging extra haulers to carry them. With a large storage space available, about 40 feet just in the garage section, a toterhome is just what adventure enthusiasts need. If you don’t have many toys to take along, you can still use the space to relax and unwind while moving from one campground to another.
Invite your friends, go on trips with your music band, or plan expeditions without worrying about the capacity of the rig. A toterhome makes it all a breeze.
Pro: Modern Amenities
You want to travel in luxury and enjoy the same amenities at your campground too, don’t you? The toterhome is fitted with a spacious kitchen, lounging areas, and even large showers. Certainly, if it’s space and luxury on your mind, it’s got to be a toterhome.
Con: Built for Specific Purposes Only
Toterhomes are specifically for businesses that need large storage spaces and superb hauling abilities. It’s also for large extended families on vacations and campers who want to take along a couple toys to their campground. The abundant space can comfortably accommodate around a dozen people – if your group is smaller, you may not need the extensive space at all.
Also, if you prefer taking along one or two toys only, your standard toy hauler or cargo trailer could possibly be a better fit.
Con: Not Ideal for Beginner RV Drivers
RVs require excellent driving skills, especially the bigger ones such as motorhomes. However, to drive a toterhome, you need something more than just that. For novice drivers, the huge size can be an issue while hauling it on straight-aways, let alone maneuvering the bends.
Con: Not for All Budgets
The huge space and impressive amenities come to you at a premium price. Clearly, these are the most expensive rigs around and will require you to shell out a lot of money to bring one home. If you are looking for an RV in the affordable category, this may not be the lineup you’d want to look at.
Maintenance of the camper is yet another area you may want to consider while purchasing a toterhome.
If it is still a toterhome that you need, visit Victory Custom Trailers in Metamora, Michigan. Not many vendors deal with these campers and we are one of those select few that do. Stop by if you are in Detroit and Flint, too.
